CASE STUDY
IDEA
The objective of our project was to showcase how Synthesia, an innovative AI tool, is changing the way global organisations communicate internally. Our focus was on illustrating the impact of Synthesia across an unusually large and complex company, using Merck KGaA - founded in 1668, with more than 60,000 employees across Healthcare, Life Science and Electronics - as a prime example. The goal was to create a compelling narrative that showed the shift from slow, agency-dependent translation and endless slide decks to video that teams create themselves, in every language they work in, within days.
CHALLENGE
The main challenge was editorial rather than logistical: how to say all of it in one simple video. Five speakers from five different teams, each with their own reason for using Synthesia - all of it worth keeping, but a case study only works if it makes one clear point. We built the film around the single line running through the material, from months of waiting on agencies to video made in-house in days, and cut everything that did not serve it.
PERFORMANCE
The video brings together interviews from across five teams, live-action footage from Merck's headquarters, and examples of Synthesia-generated content, providing a clear and engaging illustration of how the technology has changed the company's internal communication — hundreds of hours saved every year, production timelines cut from months to days, and access opened to all 60,000+ employees. The video has been well received, serving not only as a testament to the benefits of Synthesia but also as a reference point for other global organisations weighing a similar shift in how they communicate at scale.
